Every year as we make the first skiing trip of the season, I think how much I love living in California; today was no exception. The weather started out foggy, but soon transformed into a clear, sunny day! The snow on the pine trees was picturesque as was the blue sky above. And the best part? Knowing that in two weeks, just two days after our 2nd ski trip we'll be at the beach for diving and surf lessons! Love it, love it, love it!!
This was Maia's first time on skis.
And Emily's first time snowboarding. She did very well and her instructor seemed impressed with how fast she took to it; must be those surf lessons!
Maris and Lilly are pros.. here they are waiting with Maia for their lessons:

But in the end sleep won out, just minutes before we headed for the car!
